The project

To sell customized products (apparel, items) on WooCommerce, customers had to design their own artwork while the merchant stayed in control of what can be changed.

What I did

  • Merchant side: an editor to define, by drag and drop, the customizable areas of each variation and each product view.
  • Customer side: a step-by-step window to add text and images, with fonts and colors, preview and export.
  • A full mobile editor, with layers and touch handling.

Status

Delivered, after more than 110 commits and a last round of mobile improvements in late 2025.

Screenshots

  • Full-screen admin editor: view selector, buttons to add views and zones and apply to all variations, product visual with two resizable print zones, and properties of the selected zone.
  • Customer customisation window: product preview with view thumbnails, list of available zones with their status, text editing panel (font, size, colour, outline) and a button to move to the next step.
  • Mobile customisation flow: product preview with the active zone highlighted and the entered text, Text and Image tabs, input field and font picker.
